TRENDMASTERS TOY FAIR CATALOG Tarzan, Godzilla, ID4 (Independence Day) Aliens, Jeannie, Gumby From my personal Kenner and toy industry mementos. As a former Kenner employee myself (1982-92), this item is from my personal collection of mementos stored away from my 33-year career in the toy industry. Kenner's Marketing and Marketing Research Departments maintained a large collection of catalogs from our competitors. We obtained these at the International Toy Fair in New York each February, arranging reciprocal tours of each other's showrooms, and swapping catalogs. After leaving Kenner in 1992, I continued as a market research consultant to toy/game/entertainment companies until 2015, attending Toy Fair each year to visit showrooms. This catalog is from one of those visits. With the exception of a paper separation tear on the back outside cover near the spine, internally this is a PRISTINE MINT condition 66-page catalog (plus separate 13- page supplement) for the 1996 TRENDMASTERS product line, obtained at Trendmaster's showroom at Toy Fair. This catalog includes the following toy lines: - Tarzan, The Epic Adventures - ID4 Independence Day - Godzilla Wars - I Dream of Jeannie - Gumby - Starcastles - Donkey Kong Country - My First Chevy A NOTE ABOUT PRINTED CATALOGS: In pre-digital times, toy companies printed full-color, glossy catalogs of their entire product line. These were provided to retail toy buyers, usually first given out at the New York International Toy Fair each February. In many cases, the catalog included photos of PROTOTYPE toys, some that went into production, and some that did not. Some products or even entire toy lines were cancelled based on less than positive reactions at Toy Fair by buyers. Most toy companies continued to print catalogs up to about the year 2000, until they became very expensive to print and digital technology took over. But I have to say, there is something to be said about being able to hold a catalog in your hand and flip through the pages. Days gone by. Many other toy company catalogs are available from my extensive library from Kenner's library and later.
