Why Buy From Us?: Why should you purchase your tubes from Lakeland Music? We utilize a unique testing process, using a combination of vintage tube testers for shorts and gas checks, and precise modern testing equipment that is both expensive and time consuming to fully verify the meaningful electrical values of every tube we list. We also audio test every tube in one of our many amplifiers, both instrument and hi-fi, for sound quality. Our tubes may be more expensive than some big retailers, but when you work with us you know exactly what you are getting, dispelling the myth that buying tubes from eBay is a gamble, or that there is "only junk on eBay". We've seen this opinion on hobbyist forums for many years, and took it to heart. We want to be the exception to this viewpoint. This is a widely criticized word that many electronics experts and hobbyists \ enthusiasts do not like to hear unless the item is brand new, sealed in the box. When it comes to listing as a seller, sometimes to match your product with a buyer who may be looking for your item, but doesn't always know the proper terms to search, you must use the terminology most used by the buyer for the product they are looking for. Many tube buyers only know vintage tubes by the term "NOS" and will not type "vintage" when searching for what they are looking for. Therefore, when we list "NOS" in the title, we are only describing a vintage tube. When a tube is new in box, we will combine that with the term "NIB", or "New In Box". We will also list that the item is "NIB", "NOS", or "new in box", when a vintage item meets a certain threshold of visual quality combined with test data for it's age and type. This still may show signs of handling, marks, dirt, dust, rust, patina,or tarnish. This is normal for items stored for many decades in sometimes less than ideal climates. These items also have been understandably handled and changed hands many times over their life. This usually results in less than perfect cosmetic condition, but by no means indicates the item is used. Most audio experts are in 100% agreement on this. We hope this clears up the title term NOS for some buyers who have or will inquire about this. We are not trying to misrepresent our items, we are simply attempting to put our listings into the hands of those who want to see them. Performance Of Vintage Items: We cannot guarantee a vintage item will perform the same with or in your equipment as it did in ours, or that a vintage item will continue to function once it is used. We list our items honestly and accurately as possible, many times the items we are selling are 50-80 years old. ****BUYERS PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE VACUUM TUBES OUTSIDE OF THE U.S., PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE PURCHASING AS WE MAY NEED TO REMOVE THE GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM OPTION FOR YOU.
